Fairchild Garden Wedding Guide

Most couples fall in love with Fairchild the moment they step onto the property—and it’s easy to see why. A Fairchild Garden wedding gives you a ton of space, tons of greenery, and just enough Miami charm without feeling like a typical city venue.

But here’s the thing: it’s not your average garden. It’s huge, it’s outdoors, and it’s definitely a place you’ll want to plan around (transport, timing, and backup rain plans especially).

This guide breaks down what it’s actually like to have a Fairchild Garden wedding, the flow of the day, and what a Fairchild Garden wedding photographer looks for when shooting the space.

Why Couples Love Getting Married Here

A Fairchild Garden wedding isn’t your typical venue experience. It’s more like getting married inside a living postcard—with a ton of room to make the day feel like yours. From the ceremony setup to portraits and layout options, here’s why couples (and photographers) keep coming back to this Miami favorite.

Endless Outdoor Options

Fairchild is big—and that’s part of the charm. A Fairchild Garden wedding gives you a ton of flexibility when it comes to ceremony and reception spots. There are lawns, walkways, gardens, ponds, and even a butterfly garden that looks straight out of a movie. You can keep things casual or go all out, and the space will still hold up.

Built for Garden Lovers

If you love plants, trees, and anything tropical, this place is basically a dream. A Fairchild Garden wedding lets you lean into nature without giving up structure. It’s great for couples who want a garden vibe without it feeling overdone. And if you want something bold? The Chihuly glass sculptures and greenhouse areas add something a little different.

A Photographer’s Playground

For a Fairchild Garden wedding photographer, this venue is full of opportunities. The lighting changes throughout the property, which helps create variety in portraits without needing to leave the venue. The butterfly garden is a go-to for couples’ photos, and the misty, canopied walkways make backlit portraits look cinematic without even trying.

Ceremony & Reception Setup Options

A Fairchild Garden wedding is made for outdoor-loving couples. With tons of ceremony and reception spots across the property—from open lawns to shaded gardens—you’ve got flexibility to match your style and guest count.

Bailey Palm Glade is a fan favorite for big ceremonies, while the Garden Club Amphitheatre and Allee Overlook are perfect for more intimate vibes.

That said, this place is huge. Moving guests (especially older ones) across the garden can be a bit of a mission. Golf carts are a must. If it rains, tenting is an option, but setting up and relocating guests around the garden mid-storm can get tricky.

Most Fairchild events wrap by 11 p.m., so plan your timeline accordingly.

Pro tip: having a good coordinator and a solid Fairchild Garden wedding photographer makes a big difference here—especially with all the space to cover.

Venue Rental Pricing & Packages

Fairchild offers multiple wedding packages depending on your guest count and space needs.

Here’s the quick breakdown:

  • Ceremony-only packages start at $2,500++ (25 guests)
  • Garden House Package: From $6,500–$10,000++ (up to 400 guests)
  • Art Center Package: From $8,500–$12,500++ (up to 300 guests)
  • Marquee Tent Package: From $16,500–$20,000++ (up to 500 guests)

Each package includes a 6-hour event window. Additional guests are $30 each. A 50% deposit is required to book your date. All prices are subject to 7% sales tax.

Catering & Bar Options

Catering at your Fairchild Garden wedding is flexible. You’re allowed to bring in your own vendors—as long as they’re approved and insured. Some event spaces like the Glasshouse Café do require in-house catering (Le Basque), so make sure to check with your Fairchild coordinator before locking anything in.

You can also bring in your own bar service, but liquor liability insurance is required. Just make sure whoever’s serving is licensed and pre-approved by the garden team.

Vendor Flexibility

Fairchild runs a “bring-your-own-vendor” model, which means you can hire your own planner, florist, DJ, and yes—your favorite Fairchild Garden wedding photographer. All vendors need to be pre-approved and insured.

New vendors must complete a site visit at least 30 days before the event. DJs and bands may have volume restrictions in some areas, so double-check that with your coordinator if live music is part of your plan.

Getting Ready On-Site

Fairchild offers a bridal waiting room with some packages, but there are no traditional getting-ready suites on site. Most couples opt to get ready at nearby hotels like Thesis Hotel or spots in Coconut Grove, which offer more space and better lighting for hair, makeup, and pre-ceremony photos.

Your Fairchild Garden wedding photographer will definitely thank you for choosing a clean, well-lit hotel room over a tight on-site space.

Photo Opportunities

A Fairchild Garden wedding comes with more photo spots than you’ll probably have time to use—and that’s a good problem to have. It’s one of those places where every corner of the property offers something different, which is why it’s such a favorite for couples and photographers alike.

On-Site Favorite Spots

Ask any Fairchild Garden wedding photographer, and they’ll tell you the butterfly garden is a must. It’s colorful, quiet, and adds something magical to couples’ portraits. There’s also a wide lawn with steps leading down to a pond that’s great for ceremony shots or dreamy just-married portraits.

Another gem? The misty walkways shaded by tree canopies. When the light hits just right, they create a cinematic look that’s hard to beat. And near the greenhouse, you’ll find a dramatic Chihuly glass sculpture that adds a creative edge to your gallery without needing any extra setup.

Off-Site Photo Options

While Fairchild has more than enough to work with, nearby areas like Coconut Grove or the Thesis Hotel in South Miami are solid picks for getting-ready and pre-ceremony shots. These spots offer clean lighting and more controlled environments to kick off your photo timeline strong.

Lighting & Seasonal Notes

Because it’s all outdoors, lighting changes fast depending on the time of year and time of day. A good Fairchild Garden wedding photographer will know how to work with that natural light—but it’s worth planning ceremony timing around sunset to get the best glow.

And if you were hoping for drone shots? Fairchild doesn’t allow them, so make sure your photography plan stays grounded—literally.

Parking, Transportation & Accessibility

Parking at Fairchild is simple and stress-free—there’s plenty available near both the North and South gates. For larger weddings, shuttle service is included to help move guests across the venue.

The garden is wheelchair accessible on the main paths and first-floor spaces. If you’re expecting guests with mobility needs, be sure to coordinate ahead—golf carts can be arranged for added support.

Venue Rules & Policies

Here’s the need-to-know stuff before locking in your Fairchild Garden wedding:

  • Events must end by 11 p.m. sharp
  • All couples must hire a professional 2-month or month-of wedding coordinator
  • You’ll need a certificate of insurance with host liquor liability
  • Vendors also need to be insured and pre-approved
  • No drones allowed on property
  • Some décor is restricted (check with your coordinator first)
  • Rain plans should be confirmed 2–4 days before your event

Where to Stay Nearby

There’s no lodging on the grounds at Fairchild, but plenty of nearby hotels make getting ready and hosting out-of-town guests easy. Since a Fairchild Garden wedding often means getting prepped off-site, picking a hotel with good light and space is a plus—especially for your Fairchild Garden wedding photographer.

  • Hampton Inn Miami Dadeland: A reliable, no-fuss option with cozy rooms and everything your guests might need. It’s close, comfortable, and easy on the budget.
  • Marriott Miami Dadeland: A little more elevated, this hotel has on-site dining and polished spaces that work well for both getting-ready photos and out-of-town guests.
  • Aloft Miami Dadeland: Trendy with a youthful vibe, this hotel has colorful rooms and a lively bar. Great if you’re planning to stretch the celebration past the reception.
  • AC Hotel by Marriott Miami Dadeland: Sleek and modern with a rooftop pool—perfect for post-wedding hangs or a casual brunch the morning after.

Fairchild is also about a 25–30 minute drive from Miami International Airport, so getting guests in and out is simple. Most local hotels are ride-share and shuttle-friendly, which makes group logistics way easier.

Is Fairchild Garden the Right Fit?

A Fairchild Garden wedding is perfect for couples who love the outdoors and want a nature-forward vibe. Think tropical plants, butterflies, and wide-open garden paths. It works just as well for black-tie events as it does for casual, floral-filled ceremonies.

It’s great if you’re into variety—there are tons of ceremony and portrait spots—but keep in mind, the place is big. Golf carts help, but expect a bit of walking.

If that sounds like your kind of day, book a tour and walk the grounds. Most couples know pretty quickly if it’s the one.

Let’s Make Your Fairchild Photos Actually Feel Like You!
